Problems with creating folders in oracle virtual machine

I am getting the below error when trying to add "myfolders" to Oracle vm. I tried to shout down the machine by going to Machine->Close>Power but the CLOSE icon under machine is off. How can I resolve the issues?

Make sure you've selected the VM you're trying to shut down. I think you can right click the VM in the main window and shut it down from there. Then add your folders.

I right clicked in the machine (SAS University Edition) but the Close icon is still off

Dumb question - is the VM already shut down?

If all else, fails, restart Oracle Virtual Box itself.
