Trouble Installing SAS ODBC Driver in Deployment Wizard on Windows 10

Hello there,

I am currently having issues installing the odbc driver for SAS 9.4 on my windows 10 64-bit system.

What exactly happens is that after I run the setup.exe and choose the language, the window for the review of required updates appears, showing which components require updates before proceeding and that I need to "prepare" my SASHOME directory for updates.

The only product that is listed for requiring an update is SAS Security Certificate Framework.

Once I click the "next" button, though, nothing happens, except that the mouse cursor turns into this blue loading cursor. I have left the installer running in the background for hours but there is no progress whatsoever.

Here is a screenshot:

Thanks for any advice.

After selecting Next, the sualog should change and show the SAS Deployment loading the installation package for the product being upgraded and then shows it checking to make sure it can write to files being update. If the ODBC driver is in use you should see the of files that it cannot update. Have you stopped all SAS jobs and services? Are you seeing this system check dialog?

Hi Bob,

After clicking next, literally nothing happens, except for the cursor to change from an arrow to this loading circular one. No loading of any installation package or system check appears.

And yes, I made sure, all SAS related applications are closed.

I've pinged some others. The IT.log should also be of interest regarding installation failures. As for the missing jars, you'd think it would install them. Note that you can attach the logs so that I can share them.
