SAS Platform Admin Certification

Hello,

Am planning to attend SAS Platform Administration Certification Exam. Do you guys think that "SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide" is enough to get me pass? Or do I need to go through other stuff too. Please suggest if anyone already appeared for this certification.

As stated on the SAS Administration certification page, the skills and knowledge that are assessed are that successful candidates should be able to

secure the SAS configuration on each server machine
check status and operate servers
monitor server activity and administer logging
establish formal, regularly scheduled backup processes
add users and manage their access

The manual you refer to "SAS® 9.4 Intelligence Platform: System Administration Guide" only covers a small portion of what is assessed.

This is Tony Nuntasiri from Amerihealth Caritas. I'm planning on taking the SAS Platform Admin Certification exam in Dec.

I was wondering if you can direct me to where I can find practice exams. On SAS website it only has 9 sample questons.

Nice to hear from you! I am not aware of any practice exam book, perhaps someone from SAS education could confirm. My advice would be to either attend the SAS Platform Administration Fast Track course as outlined above or see if you can purchase the course notes. The course in conjunction with the SAS manuals are great preparation material.

Yes, Michelle is correct. The SAS Platform Administration Fast Track course notes can be purchased as a prep guide. And all other resources are excellent. And If you are going only on the SAS Administration documentation, you would also want to review the Security Administration guide as well. Since the exam is updated to SAS 9.4 platform, be aware that this means the middle tier is a part of the SAS platform environment with some questions on it, as well as a few questions on finding SAS resources in the SAS Environment Manager web application, a new administrator tool in SAS 9.4.
