SAS LASR Server is a component of SAS Visual Analytics and cannot be upgraded in isolation to the rest of the product. This link is a good place to start to investigate upgrade requirements:

We already have latest version of SAS VA 7.3 but we need to upgrade LASR server 2.8 (currently 2.7 installed) which was introduced by SAS Instiute last month.

Currently we have installed SAS 9.4_M3 on Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.7 environment. Could you please suggest whats steps need to performe to upgrade SAS Lasr server 2.7 to 2.8.

This is a very large topic. As I mentioned you just can't upgrade a particular SAS component, you need to apply a complete maintenance upgrade across your VA installation. Reading the SAS Upgrade Guide should get you started:

I don't see SAS LASR Server 2.8 listed. Maybe someone with more knowledge of this can help.
