how to setup new metadata folder with proper security..??

Problem Description: I can see the newly created metadata folders in EG but dont get any option to save any SAS files in the folders. please help.

Our requirement: Client wants to have a permanent folder in SAS metadata folder tree and save the business data,codes to be saved there and apply security by which a specific group has r/w access.

What I have done: I have created a new SAS metadata folder in SMC and assigned admin access to a specific id...then when I login to EG and can see the folder from EG...but I dont get any option to save any SAS files in the folders.

What am I doing wrong here or what is the exact step by step process to set up a metadata folder ?

Hi there,

when you say you do not get any option to save, what exactly are you trying to do in EGuide?

As for permissions on Folders, please take a look at

Do you get any error messages?

Are you running jobs using libraries in the assigned lib?

Can you log on to EG using a non-admin user? A user working with EG does not have to be/shouldn't be, an admin user.
