Follow-up for https://communities.sas.com/t5/Administration-and-Deployment/Default-file-encoding-in-EG-8-6/td-p/969650

Enterprise Guide 8.6 changes the file encoding on save. If a program, encoded in utf-8, is opened and saved, EG changes the encoding to utf8-bom. Git recognises this as modification, of course. Even worse: SAS Studio changes utf-8-bom to utf-8.

Are there any options in EG or Studio to prevent this mess?

A hotfix is now available for SAS Enterprise Guide 8.6 that should resolve this issue.
