topic Converting an existing 9.4 SMP into MPP in Administration and Deployment

Hi,

Would like to check if its possible to convert an existing SMP architecture into MPP without a reconfiguration?

SAS 9/4 Products:

-IFRS9
-RGF / MIP / VAAR

Current Setup: SMP

Metadata
Compute
Midtier

Intended New Setup: MPP
Metadata
Compute
Compute2
Compute3
Midtier

Is this possible without a re-install/re-configure of the environment?

Please advice

Thanks

In a grid configuration on Linux the compute SASHome and SASConfig are shared so the install/config is only performed once on the initially configured compute host, so you would not need to reinstall/reconfigure to add grid nodes.

Here is the relevant documentation:

Deploying Load Balanced Computational Servers on Multiple Machines

https://go.documentation.sas.com/doc/en/bicdc/9.4/biasag/n07065intelplatform00srvradm.htm
