How to connect VS Code to my SAS Analytics Pro container image?

Hi experts,

I have successfully downloaded and invoked SAS Analytics Pro container image (SAS Viya 4 2022.9 stable release https://documentation.sas.com/doc/en/anprocdc/v_016/anprowlcm/home.htm ) on my laptop and it is running in Docker Desktop. I also have VS Code installed on the same laptop with the SAS extension for VS code. I am trying to connect the VS Code SAS extension to the SAS Viya container image without success. Has anyone managed to get this configuration to work? If so, any tips?

Hi @EyalGonen,

Yes, I've done it. You can use the VS Code Docker extension to connect to your running container, and effectively ssh into the "machine" to view files and run code via a terminal (like running SAS in batch or from a command prompt). Here's a screen capture of my setup:

However, you won't be able to run programs by using the running man icon or the SAS Viya connection, as that setup requires the microservices and API connections -- which are not available in SAS Analytics Pro on SAS Viya.
