Hi all,

I am running into trouble finding the cause for the problem. If anyone has come accross this and knows the solution please advise.

When I try save an in memory cas table as a sashdat file in S3 I get an error:

ERROR: Failed to save the table "ORIGINAL_TABLE" from the "TEST" caslib to the "TEST" caslib.

The error in the cas logs is as follows:

2022-03-15T10:57:34,281 FATAL [00000007] 22494 224744 6 [cas.c:163] - Access violation
2022-03-15T10:57:34,282 FATAL [00000007] 22494 224744 6 [cas.c:188] - /opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcasdrv.so(tktracex+0x42) [0x7f6e1f6f6612]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcasdrv.so(exceptionHandler+0x266) [0x7f6e1f689f46]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkmk.so(bktExcept+0x51) [0x7f6e2b311671]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkmk.so(bkt_signal_handler+0x154) [0x7f6e2b311d14]
/lib64/libpthread.so.0(+0xf630) [0x7f6e2cb23630]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcastab.so(__intel_avx_rep_memcpy+0x140) [0x7f6e1c6f3600]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcastab.so(+0x184344) [0x7f6e1c62f344]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcastab.so(WriteDNFSBlocks+0x1be8) [0x7f6e1c628e78]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcastab.so(SaveTable+0x195c) [0x7f6e1c5861ac]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcastab.so(Save+0xef0) [0x7f6e1c517800]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcasa.so(casaInvoke+0x2edf) [0x7f6e158f145f]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkcasdrv.so(HandleActionControllerThread+0xa75) [0x7f6e1f697f65]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkmk.so(sktMain+0xf7) [0x7f6e2b30f527]
/opt/sas/viya/home/SASFoundation/sasexe/tkmk.so(bktMain+0x78) [0x7f6e2b311498]
/lib64/libpthread.so.0(+0x7ea5) [0x7f6e2cb1bea5]
/lib64/libc.so.6(clone+0x6d) [0x7f6e2c107b0d]

Which is clearly one for technical support. I have since logged a track, however it has taken so long and there is yet to be a solution. Has anyone come across this and what did you do to work around the problem?

Many thanks,

Hi Simon,

thanks for the feedback. I wasn't aware I was the only one in the world to report this crash. I have had a track open for months. So I thought I would try my luck. Clearly will wait this one out.

Regards,
