Hi @kannanmarappan

Few points that I can think of:

I don't see any issue during installation and configuration as all the files and directories will be owned by the same UID and GID which is recommended.

Any SAS content files or logs that are generated during execution by default go under the SASConfig directories. If these files which are system generated during app execution (batch) or end-user execution will be then owned by the same group which owns the binaries and configuration files.

User's will then be needed to be part of this primary group which isn't recommended as they can access these files.

Workaround for this could be redirecting logs to a different filesystem during installation/configuration phase itself.

Hi Team,

We have some technical challenges in our SAS9.4 M7 installation on Multi-platform environment and we need the solution/advice.

The Server architecture is with Metadata Server in Windows Platform and the Compute and Web Servers are in AIX Platform. Red-Hat idM is used to authenticate the users in AIX servers. Due to the limitations in the tool, while creating files or folders in AIX servers, the group id is set as the user himself instead of primary group of the users. As per the infrastructure team, they can set the SGID manually at the file system parent folder and the same will be inherited to all the files and folders in it.

Our concern here is, with this scenario, what will be the impact during SAS9.4 installation/configuration or post installation/configuration and on-going issues in the environment usage.
