I am running SAS 9.4 (TS1M4) 32-bit platform on a Win10 Pro 64-bit system.

My problem might be related to a recent license renewal, but I did not install a new version. I also don't know when the problem began because I don't think I've tried this feature since 2019.

I am used to printing the SAS log to a PDF using the Microsoft Print to PDF driver because it preserves all the formatting (WYSIWYG).

Now when I try to print, I get a dialog that says, "There are currently no printers installed."

If I try to print from the Editor window, I get

ERROR: There is no currently selected printer driver. Use Print Setup to select an installed printer driver.
ERROR: General error from the User Interface subsystem.

If I then go to Print Setup as instructed, I get the same dialog ("There are currently no printers installed.").

But if I go to the Results window and try to print, all the Windows printer drivers show up.

I know I can save the log window as .log or .rtf, and I see that there is an undocumented way to save .rtf with font colors, but this behavior looks buggy.

What's going on?

Thanks!

I have a standalone SAS installation.

To print, I have the cursor in the offending window (Editor or Log), and then go to File | Print ....
No, I tried the printerpath option, and it did nothing to help, but thanks for the idea.

I am not generating graphics output. In fact, I don't have to submit any statements. I can just open SAS and try to print the log.

I tried the universal print switches. This gave me access to the SAS universal printing suite of drivers, but I didn't see any way to direct print output to my Windows printers, so it really isn't much help. [I think there is a way to define a Windows printer within the SAS universal printing feature, but that looks tedious, and SAS should be able to access Windows printers directly.]

All the other apps on this PC--like Office, browsers, etc.--can print to the Windows printers.

I would like to know how to direct SAS to use the Windows printers as it used to do.
