How to start SAS services on shared file system from Grid nodes

Hi All,

We have multi machine architecture plan file (SAS 9.5 M5 Grid) and we have installed metadata server and nodes on the local instance.

We have installed and configured Grid control server on the shared directory . When we try to start the services from the grid nodes we are facing issues and the services are not started properly.

Could you please suggest here.

What are the steps to configure the grid nodes after installing the grid control server in shared directory

You only need to start all the SAS Services on the main compute node. If you are planning to have fail-over for services like object spawner or connect spawner you will need to modify the startup script for this. Rest of the services like WIPDS or any other application that has a db installed on compute has to be started only once.

Are you referring the main compute node as the grid controller node.

Could you please let us know where and what needs to be modified in the object spawner startup script.

Hi All,

We have modified the object spawner startup script as per the document from the below link.

Should we restart the Object Spawner and SAS Environment Agent separately in each Grid compute nodes when ever we restart the services in the Grid controller.

we could see these services are not started automatically when we start the services in controller node.

Yep, you will have to start them individually on respective worker nodes.
