Check in SAS Management Console User Manager. If an entry doesn't exist for the OS SAS install account then it isn't stored in metadata. If it is then check to see if a password is stored or not. If not you can change it via the OS without it impacting metadata.

Usually, the install user is not stored in metadata, because this is not needed by the SAS system. But if you have a setup where the users are managed through an LDAP source, all LDAP users (authorized for the SAS server) will be synchronized from LDAP into the metadata, and then the install user will be included automatically. But then you also have the passwords checked against the LDAP source.
