Hi folks,

We recently change our SAS Server. The machine has exactly the same definition that the older one but is a new AIX model. We installed a SAS 9.4M5 on it. The new machine has a new name, so for the moment on log appears a error messages saying the name on SID Is different of the host.

Apparently, without any apparent reasons the SAS services down. It’s happens at night and early in the morning, before users arrives. So, only the automatic process runs at that time.

The services downs in differents hours and not in the same days. So it’s not always during the same processes.

Any idea why this happens? We have processes started by IBM Control M using a shell scripts, other directly by crontab and a few SAS EG projects. All these process executed for a long time, when we had a older server using SAS 9.2.

The SAS logs for the process that not shows any errors, it’s only stop because services stop. It’s like for some reasons the PID for the services were kill.

We turn on trace for object spawned but it not shows any error on log.

Regards,

If you are referring to the licence issue then you need to request a new licence from SAS with the updated server name. If it is other problems then you need to provide more details. The OP did not provide any more details than "some services down" so not really enough information to offer any help. If you do have services down, then which ones and what happened when you tried to start them? The licence warning is just a warning and will not prevent SAS services running normally.
