Hi all

We are looking at the deployment / migration of our current platform and are working through some issues.

One of these issues are related to Products installed on the Compute server vs the Product bundles listed in the License Renewal files.

My question : how do we MAP prodnums to Product Bundles in a case were we receive a Renewal notification email from SAS as follows:

Trying to install this from a Deployment plan, which only lists the Product Bundles it becomes a little tricky to locate deployment plans containing the right set of Products,

For example:

A Product bundle such as SAS Enterprise BI Server:

Which Products (based on PRODNUM) would it include?

A Product such as BASE SAS is easy enough to figure since a Product called BASE SAS is listed, and so is a relevant PRODNUM. (000)

But where would *PRODNUM677 = HPS SAS High-Performance Server slot into? Which Product Bundle would this be a part of?

Is there some documentation online where SAS lists the Product Bundles with PRODNUMS?

Hello there @Lenvdb,

very nice question. I also would love to see that kind of relationship published somewhere, how ever, I believe there is none (perhaps one of the SAS peers would like to chime in? @ChrisHemedinger )

However, once you get to know a bit the SAS solutions/products, it is kind of easy to recognize most of them.

Examples:

SAS Foundation products as: SAS Base, Metadata, SAS/ACCESS (to ODBC or PC Files), STAT, IML, ETS

SAS Enterprise Guide

Quality Knowledge Bases

This leaves only the solutions under the question you posted:

SAS Data Management Standard Server
SAS Enterprise BI Server

If you are capable of understanding the contents of the solution you will be able to relate them to the PRODNUMs.

SAS Data Management Standard Server --> Data Quality Server, Workspace Server, HPS (I believe), Workspace Server, SAS Base, Secure, DatFlux, probably one more SAS/ACCESS module (you ODBC one)
SAS Enterprise BI Server --> OLAP and MDDB, Workspace Server, GRAPH and STAT (yes, as well, same as SAS Base), SAS Addon for Office, Enterprise Guide , Secure, VA services, PC Files, probably one more SAS/ACCESS module (you ODBC one)

So, as you can see, some of the products (prodnums) can be shared by one or more than one SAS solution included in your license.

Also, I think your best choice to answer this question, independently of what we can offer you here, is to contact your SAS Contracts manager, as suggested at https://support.sas.com/techsup/license/index.html
