SAS 9.3 Deployment Manager not Running

Hello--

I am trying to uninstall SAS 9.3 from my former employer in order to install SAS 9.3 from my current employer on my home office computer. I have tried to follow how SAS suggests to uninstall the program but the only problem is that the deployment manager will not run. I am logged in as the administrator and JAVA is updated on my computer. Any advice on how to get around this would be much appreciated.

Check what version of JRE (Java Runtime Environment) you have. If you don't have the officially supported version (eg 1.6.0_24) as documented here this may be the cause of your problem:

Later versions can cause certain SAS components to fail. We have used 1.6.0_24 and 1.6.0_32 successfully but have had problem with later versions.

you will probably just need java 1.6 and the file change.
