Analyses in the actual Framingham Heart Study involved the variable body mass index, which is calculated as a function of body weight in kg and height in cm. Currently, Height is measured in inches. Let’s create a new variable to convert Height to centimeters. Note: 1in equals 2.54cm.

The Transform Data task in the Tasks >> Data menu creates new variables that are transformations of existing variables.

Double click the Transform Data task. Under Data, select the DEMO.MYHEART dataset that you created with Recode Ranges task

In SAS Studio, select the More Application Options Icon:

Then select View, make sure Tasks & Utilities is checked.
