If you are using SAS Studio on SAS OnDemand for Academics, you 'll need to upload the file to your Files(Home) directory (or a sub-folder) using the upload button (it's the up-arrow just under Server Files and Folders).

@thenycguy wrote:

I am trying to access an EXCEL spreadsheet via proc import. I am using Windows 10.

How do I access the Excel if, in File Manager, it is listed as This PC/Downloads/The Data_100302022 with an extension of Microsoft Excel Worksheet?

My goal is to bring the data into SAS for processing.

Thank you!

I doubt the file is actually named "The Data_100302022.Microsoft Excel Worksheet".

To have Windows 10 show you the REAL names of the files make sure to check the "File name extensions" box on the View options panel.

If the read file extension is .xlsx then you should be able to read it with SAS using either PROC IMPORT or the XLSX libname engine.

But if the version of SAS you are using is NOT running on your PC (for example if you are using a browser to connect to SAS/Studio interface running at SAS) then you will need to upload your downloaded file to the machine where SAS is running for SAS to be able to read from it. SAS/Studio has an UPLOAD button.
