Yes there is a lot of new functionality in SAS 9.4, but my personal opinion is trying to do 2 major SAS installs in 7 - 9 months is a lot of extra work. and the difference between non-grid and grid is major. You would probably find you are still ironing out problems moving to 9.4 at the same time as your grid project kicks off. I'd say it is not worth the extra effort.

Hi,

We plan on upgrading to SAS9.4 grid in about 7 - 9 months from 9.3, but was wondering if there's any performance/functionality benefits of upgrading to 9.4 environment without grid enabled until we go grid or is just best to wait until we go grid.

Thanks,
