Reading Thailand Characters from Teradata

Data extracted from Teradata using SAS which contains Thailand traditional characters for customer name and displayed as ??.

But when the same data is pulled directly using TD SQL Assistant. I am getting Thailand characters, where I changed the font to UTF8.
How do I fix this issue of Thailand character display in SAS. I tried using encoding=utf8, but thats not working.

Please help me on this.

I am not sure of my answer. Try it yourself. Apply the below option, see if it works.

option LOCALE=th_TH;

I tried with locale=th_TH option. But it is not working.

That is because the encoding of Teradata is different with your SAS encoding.

modify the file sasenv_local (is under the fold of SAS) , add the correct(Teradata) encoding in it .

and restart SAS .
