      <title>Reading Thailand Characters from Teradata</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Data extracted from Teradata using SAS which contains Thailand traditional characters for customer name and displayed as ??.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But when the same data is pulled directly using TD SQL Assistant. I am getting Thailand characters, where I changed the font to UTF8.&lt;BR /&gt;How do I fix this issue of Thailand character display in SAS. I tried using encoding=utf8, but thats not working.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Please help me on this.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks&lt;/P&gt;</description>

That is because the encoding of Teradata is different with your SAS encoding.

modify the file sasenv_local (is under the fold of SAS) , add the correct(Teradata) encoding in it .

and restart SAS .
