I'm guessing that the likely culprit is a network port timeout. You could ask your IT network folks to monitor the traffic of one of your extracts to provide more evidence. You could also ask them if there are any timeout limits being applied on the relevant network port.

Hi,

When I am trying to move across a large dataset into python using SAS.sd2pd(''), i get an error where it says the socket connection failed - this only happens with the large dataset i have so i want to know if there is anyway around it?

Thanks
