Unable to connect to Postgres from Base SAS 9.4

I am trying to connect to Postgres in Base SAS 9.4 for the first time using the following command:

libname pg postgres user=**** pwd=***** server="****" database=**** conopts="sslmode=require" ;

I am receiving the following error:

CLI error trying to establish connection: Service negotation failed; The client and server
cannot communicate, because they do not possess a common algorithm. in
DoSchannelNegotiation:CreateSchannelCredentials

If anyone recognizes this error, please let me know how you resolved it!

with most of the same error text and a "solution" that points to possible TLS protocol settings as being involved.

May mean a call to SAS tech support is the way to go.

Did you configure the pg_hba.conf file to allow the connection from remote? If there is no specific entry with user, database and network you will not be able to connect to the PostgreSQL database at all.
