What did you have highlighted or selected in the interface when attempting to save? Save is context sensitive and the type of object selected limits what sort of save my be allowed.

Hi,

The following is extract from the advanced programming book.

To save the Printit macro definition to the Sasuser.Mymacs catalog, perform these
steps:
1. Select File ð Save As Object. In the Save As Object window, select the Sasuser
library. ...

The problem is I can't find the Save As Object option on my platform (I'm using SAS Ondemand).

thanks!

I'm guessing that your advanced programming book is explaining how to save the macro program as a SOURCE entry in the MyMacs SAS catalog.

Most likely the author is assuming you are using the legacy SAS Windowing Environment, also called Display Manager. With SODA you use SAS Studio, a much more modern interface. The two interfaces are not the same and storing source code in SAS macros is not really recommended these days. That may explain why there is no option. I'd suggest just storing macros like any other SAS program - in text files with a file type of SAS.
