Have you tried using PROC CONTENTS on the dataset and does it report an index or not?</SPAN></P> <P>&nbsp;</P> <P>Check the modified dates for both the files. If the date modified on the SAS7BDAT file is not the same as the SAS7BNDX file then the index won't match the dataset.
