Remove space between variable name to add an underscore for example (customer ID) to (customer_ID)

I am working with a dataset that contains variables like customer ID and unit ID. I would like to remove space between them and add an underscore to be like customer_ID and unid_ID.

How did you obtain the data set?

If you read it in from csv or Excel add this option and re-import the file.

options validvarname=v7;
