&lt;P&gt;1. If eventDate is a SAS Date value then you need to provide the boundary values as SAS Date values and not as strings.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;PRE&gt;and eventDate between "01dec2020"d and "31dec2021"d&lt;/PRE&gt;
&lt;P&gt;2. There shouldn't be an AND before the GROUP BY clause&lt;/P&gt;
