Hi, I'm trying to use SAS to construct an ANOVA table for a multiple factor experiment. The question I'm trying to solve says that the MSE (error mean square) is 6.598 with 36 degrees of freedom. I have tried it with the code attached, but am getting the incorrect value for MSE. GIven that there are 36 treatment combinations, and r = 2 observations were taken on each, can you please check where I'm going wrong?

The question I'm trying to solve says that the MSE (error mean square) is 6.598 with 36 degrees of freedom.

This isn't a question ... it's a statement. We can't answer the question because its not a question, and we don't know what the question is.

We don't know what part of your experiment corresponds to r, as no factor in the experiment is obviously r ... you haven't explained a thing so its impossible to help you at this time

I will say, however, that with 36 data points, you canNOT have an MSE with 36 degrees of freedom. That is impossible. So maybe there really is no need to explain further ... no possible answer will yield an MSE of 6.598 with 36 degrees of freedom
