Hi,

Looking for anyone who is still running SAS 8.2 on the Solaris10 platform. For various reason I have to try to make this work but so far I've had limited success.

Base install is done and SAS starts however it generates an access violation on startup and doesn't close on exit. SAS version is 8.2 TS2M0.

Solaris is 5.10 Generic_147440-01 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240.

I'm still in the process of digging for any potentially applicable hot fixes but any pointers would be appreciated. I'm not that strong on the history of the dark ages. 🙂

Cheers

Joe

$ /usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas

WARNING: DMS bold font metrics fail to match DMS font.

Segmentation Violation In Task ( DMSEXP ]

Fault Occurred at [/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:_XmImRedisplay+0x2714]

Task Traceback

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:_XmImRedisplay+0x2714

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:_XmImRedisplay+0x11ec

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:XmImSetValues+0x50

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:XmImVaSetValues+0x9c

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:_XmProcessDrag+0x1b38

/usr/openwin/lib/libXt.so.4:XtCvtStringToPixel+0x914

/usr/openwin/lib/libXt.so.4:_XtAppCreateShell+0x310

/usr/openwin/lib/libXt.so.4:_XtCreateWidget+0x26c

/usr/openwin/lib/libXt.so.4:XtCreateWidget+0xbc

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:XmCreateList+0x68

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:XdIconListOverrideUserData+0x2080

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:XdMCIconListAddColumn+0x20

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:wuwlstv+0xba8

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:wuxmeth+0x5b8

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexplin+0x1da0

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexplin+0x1280

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:zuxbrow+0x4b74

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:wuxgtre+0x1364

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:wuxmeth+0x5b8

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexplin+0x5c4

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:zuxbrow+0x3894

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexpexp+0x854

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexpexp+0x390

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:zuxbrow+0x3a20

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexpdex+0x1944

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:xexpdex+0x208

/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sas:vvtentr+0x6c

Segmentation Violation In Task ( DMSEXP ]

Fault Occurred at [/usr/local/SAS_8.2/sasexe/sasmotif:_XmImRedisplay+0x2714]

XIO: fatal IO error 131 (Connection reset by peer) on X server "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:0.0"

after 208 requests (208 known processed) with 0 events remaining.

This last error is the X server being killed as a way to get out of SAS.
