Ouput screen always blank, error message: unable to copy registry to work registry

After executing a job in sas 9.4 on unix, the log comes up in a font different than when system is working, with two messages:1) unable to copy registry to work registry, and 2) you will not see registry customization during this session. Then the output window is blank, and shortly a message appears that says 'starting browser, please wait'. It then disappears. I have restarted SAS and restated the computer and the result is the same--no output in output screen. Result is the same regardless of the sas program I submit. Checking error messages in google indicates it may be corrupted profiles. Thanks for any help you can give.

This normally happens when you already have a SAS session running and start another one, as they compete to lock the same files.

Adding option -RSAUSER at startup should help. Please try.

Thanks. I had tried that due to a previous posting from the community and it did not help. This AM I changed a setting in the tools box and it seemed to help. Then the person who was our SAS support in the past called and said there was a job still running from a few days ago, when SAS had imploded. He killed that and now the problem may be fixed more permantently. This person will send some screen shots of what he did so I can check on it myself the next time this happens. In the past SAS has just collapsed 3x /month or so while I am entering code into the editor, and no one here has been able to determine why. Fortunately the frequency has decreased substantially. People who are supposed to support SAS here keep getting moved to other jobs, so our support never gets enough experience to really help us.
