Unix SAS 64-bit connect to an MS Access Database - libname pcfiles error

Unix SAS 9.4 64-bit

SAS EG on Windows with Office 365 64-bit, running SAS PC Files Server (Microsoft Access Database Engine installed too)

libname mydb pcfiles port=9621 server="AAA-BBBBB" path="/home/users/bbbbb/accessDB.MDB";

ERROR: Unable to resolve host name specified by SERVER=.
ERROR: Error in the LIBNAME statement.

Questions:

Does the access file need to be on the server or on the windows machine? I tried both.

The server option by default is the machine name, correct?

What am I doing wrong?

The MS Access file must be accessible to the SAS PC Files Server so it would make more sense for it to be on your PC. The server name should be the network (host) name for your PC. It must be accessible from the SAS Unix server. You should be able to use the ping OS command on the SAS server - ping YourPCName - to see if it can identify your PC. If it doesn't work you will need to talk to your IT Network folks to fix it.

Thank you SASKiwi, this makes perfect sense now that you spelled it out.

My PC is not in fact accessible from the SAS Unix server.
