Can i ask question to user in UNIX before executing SAS

Hi i have sas code abc.sas i want to ask person executing code couple of questions under UNIX Command line before SAS goes ahead and executes the code.

Example of scenario

Lets say person is executing code under UNIX environment

sas abc.sas -noterminal &

(questions before executing code)

Have you checked database table refresh time(Y/N) ?

if answer is Y then execute

if answer is N then quit with custom message "Please check refresh time and try again"

It should be possible to code the questions using shell-commands and call the sas program as final step.
