      <description>&lt;P&gt;Is it possible to use&amp;nbsp; SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files engine in Sas University Edition, i am using the code "libname orionx pcfiles path="&amp;amp;path/sales.xls";" &amp;nbsp;but i get error massages, if it is not possible, how can i get excel files to use as data set.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;You are bit confused there. &amp;nbsp;Your file extension states .xls, which is an old Office binary file. &amp;nbsp;You cannot libname to it. &amp;nbsp;Move the file to a newer format such as XLSX (save as from Excel).&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;This post will help you import Excel data files:&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thank you for the quick reply, i have just noticed the information "Some SAS installations, including SAS University Edition, do not have the SAS/ACCESS Interface to PC Files engine that is necessary to assign a LIBNAME statement to an Excel file.&amp;nbsp;", so the only way is to use "proc import" i suppose. I get right on your link for further information, thanks again :).&lt;/P&gt;</description>
