Dear all,

I am new to survival analysis and attempting to perform cox proportional hazards on my database of trauma patients. I'm interested in identifying the hazard ratio of alcohol exposure for in-hospital death in trauma patients. My database has patients that die up to 200 days out. I'm interested in examining the hazard ratio in the first 6 hours, 12 hours, and 24 hours of hospitalization. How may I do this? Thank you for your help...

Take a look at the Examples in the documentation for PROC PHREG, and see if any fit your situation. That would give you a start on both code and interpretation.

Steve Denham
