Was it saved correctly? Is there any typo - some unwanted character?

Hello,

I am currently using SAS Studio. I have saved a SAS program into one of the folders, but it doesn't appear in the left hand column in the folder directory. However, when I re-wrote the program and went to save it, I can see the original program in the dialogue box that appears to select the save location.

What's going on here? How can I make these programs visible?

Thank you

P

Try to refresh the folders using the right most icon above the folders list

Are you sure it saved? The Save As window in SAS/Studio is a little bit strange. You need to make sure to click on the folder name where you want to write the file. Not just enter the filename in the text box. You can click on the buttons that expand the sub directories and that might not actually select any one of them. You still need to click on the actual directory you want to write to.

I saved it in the same way I've saved tens of other programs before it...

To see what is appearing on the screen: I am trying to find the program called "Homework 2" in the folder BST 213. Here is what you get in the sidebar:

And here is what you get in the Save As window. You can see where I tried to re-create Homework 2, tried to save it under the same name, and SAS appears to be detecting the original file because it forces the second instance to be saved as Homework 2(1). However, none of these appear in the navigation sidebar, and there's no "open" dialogue box where you could in theory just navigate to the folder.

Make sure you don't have two separate folders named BST 213 in different places in the file system.

Also is that a space between the T and the 2? It is hard to tell when looking at the screen shots.

Personally I never create files or directory names that contain spaces.

Thank you for this suggestion - there was a separate folder with the same
name buried in another folder, not sure how that happened, where everything
was being saved. Will keep in mind the idea of folders not having spaces.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance!
