LASR is the in-memory SAS data library technology delivered in SAS 9.x

CAS is the in-memory SAS data library technology delivered in SAS Viya. CAS is essentially a more advanced and powerful version of LASR.

LASR is in-memory engine used by SAS Visual analytics on 9.4 platform.

CAS is the engine for Viya. It is used to process all analytic workloads on Viya platform.

MAS is used with solutions that publish python or DS2 code. It is available only with selected SAS solutions.
