Running R in SAS EG

I've completed the steps outlined in the following post https://communities.sas.com/t5/General-SAS-Programming/Run-R-code-inside-SAS-easily/td-p/210116 and used the example code to test and see if I can run R in base SAS 9.4 and SAS EG 7.1. In SAS 9.4 the code run exactly as expected, but in SAS EG 7.1 the code creates a pdf file to display the histogram output instead of a png image file. I'm wondering if this is a system issue or a coding issue?

Thanks!
