I want to write a code to multiply vector 1 starting at the beginning by vector 2, only vector 2 will move down one at every iteration while vector one will always begin at the beginning. The example given is on a much smaller scale, use lags would become much too large (400 periods / 200 variables ). How do I do this calculation by group- if first start over?

So, the parts of your attachment highlighted in yellow make no sense to me, and explanation is not provided. Which means to me that before we could provide any real assistance, these issues would have to be cleared up and explained.

I also think that PROC IML would be able to handle this type of calculation easily.

Have you tried to modify the solution you already had? If so, please post what you've tried so far.
