When the dependent variable is missing, the observation cannot be used in the modeling. However, SAS can produce predicted values for observations where the dependent variable is missing.

Hi all,

I am new in SAS.

I am using mixed model for repeated measurement.

some values of dependent variable for few sample ids are missing.

But values of independent variables of the same sample ids are present.

For example,

Blood pressure -dependent variable- 5 sample ids Blood pressure are missing

Smoking, BMI -independent variable- values are present for the same 5 samples

what does proc mixed model do for these 5 samples?

Does if exclude all these 5 samples?
