Hello All,

I just want to ask what's the best way to migrate (datasets with or without index and catalogs) from Windows SAS 9.1.3 to Linux SAS 9.4? Please send here the steps you do before and during the migration?

Thank You,

Aaron

Have a look here: http://support.sas.com/rnd/migration/planning/files/calculator/

It gave me the answer that you don't need to do anything if using CEDA (Cross Environment Data Access) is acceptable.

Use proc migrate on the target system, as it converts a whole library in one step.

Note that we've been using CEDA for a long time without ill effects (masses of historical data created with earlier SAS versions).

Hello Kurt,

When I use proc migrate can I copy first the datasets/catalogs from Windows server to Linux server using winscp or mobaxterm? I will copy the datasets to a source folder in unix and still use proc migrate just to convert the datasets and catalogs?

Thank You,

Yes. While reading the datasets, proc migrate uses CEDA. The link I gave you earlier will show you if your environment combination (old/new) allows this.
