you might find Paper 115-2008 by Rick Langston titled "Experiences in Testing Host-Dependent Software in a Portable Fashion" useful, at http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/forum2008/115-2008.pdf
How can I share my macros without sharing the source code to a partner when the partner is on another platform? We have no way to produce the macro catalog in the format that is accepted by Windows Server 2008 64 bit.

Thanks,
Hi:
In the documentation:
http://support.sas.com/documentation/cdl/en/mcrolref/61885/HTML/default/viewer.htm#a001328775.htm

It states that:
"You cannot move a stored compiled macro to another operating system. You can, however, move the macro source code to another operating system where you can then compile and store it. You might need to recompile these macros if you use them in a different release of SAS. For more information, see your host companion."

The doc seems clear on this issue, but you can always check with Tech Support to see whether there are any alternatives.
A tad tongue it cheek, but if the IP is worth enough it may be feasible to put the code on a thumb drive or similar media, visit the client, complile the code on their machine and not leave a copy of source. If you could tie this to another customer service reason, so much the better.
