Current client/server SAS installs contain a directory standalone_installers in the SAS depot. In this you find a standalone installer for EG and the AddIn for Microsoft Office. That is all you need to copy to the client PC.

My Organisation have a Linux Base SAS package, which includes SAS EG by default(checked PROC SETINIT).

We face a lot of issues while debugging complex codes in the Linux box , sometimes it is way hard.

We can not use EG in Linux box.

0. Where to download a standalone SAS EG, not the whole BASE SAS software?

1. Can we install EG in a windows environment with the same SAS Linux licence?

2. Can make a server(Linux Base SAS) client(Windows SAS EG) architecture?

3. What are the probable challenges?

Thank you

Contact SAS via SAS Support, they can do a full diagnostic, check licenses, and provide software packages.

This:
"We face a lot of issues while debugging complex codes in the Linux box , sometimes it is way hard."

Does not make any sense, debugging code of any kind is exactly the same regardless of OS involvement.

First of all, yes you can connect to a Linux SAS Metadata from a Windows workstation using SAS Enterprise Guide.

Regarding the setinit, you may have to reach out to your sale rep to obtain a SID, order and plan file that will allow you to download the depot and install on Windows.

The challenges you may face will depend on your skill level. To an experience SAS Administrator/Installer, this is pretty routine stuff.

I've seen EG clients connect to SAS Platform running on Solaris, Linux, AIX and Windows. All configurations are pretty similar, that is the beauty of SAS 🙂
