If you are asking about PREVCMD then you are really asking about DM commands and how you might be able to use them.  Take a look at: &lt;A href="http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi23/Posters/p182.pdf" target="_blank"&gt;http://www2.sas.com/proceedings/sugi23/Posters/p182.pdf&lt;/A&gt;, although I am sure you can Google numerous other references.&lt;BR /&gt;

with PREVMCD command we call recall previous typed in command.&lt;BR /&gt;
However this is limited!!&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
What to do do/change to be able to recall more???&lt;BR /&gt;

In the old SAS environment that used to be called SAS Display Manager, there is a command called COMMAND for which SAS On-line Documentation provides this&lt;BR /&gt;
 &lt;BR /&gt;
COMMAND &amp;lt;&amp;lt;WINDOW &amp;lt;"title"&amp;gt; | BAR &lt;SORT&gt; &lt;FOCUS&gt; &lt;MAX&gt; &lt;AUTOCOMPLETE&gt;  &lt;BR /&gt;
 &lt;BR /&gt;
MAX=max-commands &lt;BR /&gt;
specifies the maximum number of commands to "remember" in the command bar drop- down list. Valid values are 0 through 50.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
You must specify the WINDOW or BAR argument in the command before specifying the MAX argument.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
So if your max is set below 50, then COMMAND  bar max=50 will make a difference.&lt;BR /&gt;
