I'm reminded of trying to get Excel to print a document one page wide and {however many} pages tall.

Excel seems to accept 1, 99 in the page setup dialogue, and then zoom to get a single page wide, and use that same zoom setting to get the required number of pages tall.

Try inserting an improbably large number in the second position, and you might find it will still only print the number of pages for which there are data rather than distort the print vertically.

DDE to excel: having trouble with "scale" parameter of page.setup

Hello,

I'm having some difficulty using dde to Excel and the page.setup command with the "scale" parameter. In the help for page.setup, I can see that the scale parameter can take one of three forms:

1. A number to scale by %, ie 55 = 55%
2. Logical True = fit to 1 by 1
3. 2-dimensional array indicating fit to X pages wide by Y pages tall.

I can get options one and two to work, but really it's the third option (2-dimentional array) that I need. I've seen an example passing this third option as, for example...

{1,4}

Ideally, I'd like to get the {1,#N/A} scenario (where #N/A indicates no constraint) to work but am yet to be successful.

Does anyone know the syntax for this to work?

Thanks in advance,
