SAS 9.1 import wizard is having problem with excel file imports, it works ok for .txt files.
I was using the same files to work in SAS in Oct this year , it worked well.
Now, I tried using both the import wizard and command line approach, same result.
This is the sas log message which I get -

1 PROC IMPORT OUT= WORK.fam
NOTE: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of errors.
Hi:
This is not the forum for IMPORT Wizard problems -- since the IMPORT Wizard is not generally involved in ODS and Base SAS Reporting (PRINT, REPORT, TABULATE) production of reports.

If you are having trouble with PROC IMPORT and/or need a SETINIT, your best and fastest resource is to open a track with Tech Support. To send a question to Tech Support, go to http://support.sas.com/ and in the left-hand navigation pane, click on the link entitled "Submit a Problem".
