topic Should I have /config/Lev1/SASApp/BatchServer directory by default? in New SAS User

Hi All,

I'm still pretty new to SAS admin so apologies if this is a daft question... I'm currently attempting to set up SAS scheduling functionality in MC but feel like I'm falling at the first hurdle.

There is plenty of great documents on what to install and how to install but they all seem to assume I have a /batchserver/ directory as outlined in the subject title, but I don't? I've googled the directory to death and all I get is results on how to install a batch server (as if I already have this location)

Is this directory something I should have by default or must I be licensed for it? Where do I get it from if I should have it? Happy to be told that it's something for Tech Support but didn't want to trouble them if its something obvious I'm missing

Thanks in advance

Kev

Kev,

Thanks for posting your question to the community. Not all SAS EBI environments will include a SAS Data Step Batch Server. What determines whether or not that server component is configured is the plan.xml file used when the environment was initially installed and configured. I would suggest to open a Technical Support track for assistance on configuring your environment to include a SAS Data Step Batch Server. When opening the track, include the plan.xml file used as that will be needed. You can find the plan file in the …/config/Lev1/Utilities directory. It will be in the form or plan.yyyy-mm-dd-##.##.xml . Include all files that resemble that mask.

Contact SAS Technical Support .

Thanks.

-Mark
