topic How to find an autosaved SAS program in New SAS User

Not a question, but I just wanted to share some info that helped me find my most recent program code I lost when SAS shut down for some reason.

I am using SAS 9.4 for Windows and had a bit of a panic when I opened my computer and SAS had closed after doing significant work on a program that I didn't save.

Reading this resource here (Autosave Backup Files ) and searching my C: for " Autosave of* " led me right to what I needed. I also found a bunch of other autosaves from some classes I'm sure would have been helpful at the time 😞

Upon opening the Autosave files (.$as) I just needed to save as a normal .sas file and then everything was good to go.
