      <title>In Proc mixed, random effects-coefficient</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I want a model that derives a random intercept from Proc mixed.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;However, since the results are derived using SAS, coefficients are derived from Random Effects.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Is this the random intercept at level 2 I want?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Also, how to interpret this coefficient means subtracting the group mean from the overall mean?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;span class="lia-inline-image-display-wrapper lia-image-align-inline" image-alt="dongsunk_0-1688262276619.png" style="width: 400px;"&gt;&lt;img src="https://communities.sas.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/85509i34FF03ECF0E282E8/image-size/medium?v=v2&amp;amp;px=400" role="button" title="dongsunk_0-1688262276619.png" alt="dongsunk_0-1688262276619.png" /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Without seeing your design and your SAS code, I can't tell you where your level 2 parameters might be.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The screenshot of solution for random effects gives the associated value needed to calculate a best linear unbiased predictor (BLUP) for each level in the table. See the Details part of the documentation for PROC MIXED for a more precise discussion.&lt;/P&gt;
