The SAS depot will have everything including the middleware, so you will also get the current version of SAS Studio, avoiding any compatibility issues.

Get a new SAS depot from your SAS representative (usually, customers have a dedicated account manager) and follow the instructions for the upgrade.

If you are not the local SAS administrator, ask them to do the upgrade.

Hi,

I am part of the SAS Administrator team. Currently, we have SAS Studio with (SAS Base Edition3.8) and SAS release (9.4 M6). We want to upgrade the maintenance version to 9.4M7 but came to know that SAS Base Edition latest version is 3.8 and we wanted to check does v3.8 supports 9.4M7 version or not. As per the this document "https://support.sas.com/software/products/sas-studio/faq/SASStudio_releases.htm" it is showing we cannot.

SAS Studio is tightly tied to your SAS mid-tier server as that is where it is installed and runs. I'm not aware of any way to run SAS Studio versions that are not part of your SAS server software version and maintenance level. This is different to SAS PC-based tools such as Enterprise Guide. You can use EG versions far more recent than your SAS server maintenance level.
