It seems to be the same, as the full path fits the requirements of naming the main directory and the subfolder: \SASUniversityEdition\myfolders

I can't get studio to open files on my local PC.

The images below are the myfolders on my PC and also Studio. The myfolder on my PC was created before installing Studio, as per instructions.

Any ideas?

thanks

Bill

So, I assume you want to make use of the Excel file you show.

In your operating system, create a new folder in SASUniversityEdition\myfolders, let's get creative and call this new folder ABC.

Then, in SAS University edition, right-click on My Folders, select Create Shortcut, then Browse to folder ABC and select it and click OK.

Now, in SAS folder ABC should appear under My Folders. In your operation system, place the Excel file in folder ABC ... and you're ready to go.

Please note that University Edition is VERY touchy about what you name the shared folder location. These are all wrong:
\SAS University Edition\myfolders (no spaces in the path)
\SASUniversityEdition\my folders (again, no spaces in the path)
\SASUniversityEdition\MyFolders (myfolders needs to be lowercase)
\SASUniversityEdition\myfolder (no 's' on the end of myfolders)
\SASUniversityEdition\myfldoers (myfolders spelled wrong)

SAS expects your shared folder location to be created under SASUniversityEdition main folder and you call this folder "myfolders" -- lowercase, no spaces, with an 's' on the end.
Hope this helps,
Cynthia

Thanks to those who read and helped.

The solution is to change the shared folder settings in Oracle VM virtualbox Manager settings.

Shared Folders -> new -> enter Folder Path and Name -> click Auto Mount and Permanent.
