SAS Enterprise Miner fails to respond when you select a task

The import and run works fine. Then when I want to see results a blank white blank window appears in the background, I'm forced to exit that as no data on it. Then when I go to click on edit variables (or any command for that matter) my whole app just doesnt change except the top dashboard (where file edit view etc are) is greyed out and makes a sound whenever I click anywhere.

So I read somewhere that if I plugged in a monitor that a window would appear on the monitor which was the cause of everything being greyed out as that window wants to be viewed first. So I did that and my window appeared on the monitor, so I tried it again but this time the whole problem began again except using a monitor did not work.

Similar to this problem except the solutions to this don't work.

Were you able to resolve the issue?
If yes, how?
If no, can you send details on the hardware and OS you are using? And the java and miner versions you are using? If my setup is similar I can run some tests.
